Can I give it SIX stars?

This is a hellishly clever device. Since acquiring it, I have been on a baking spree with flawless results. The Exopat baking sheet is a perfect, easy to clean and truly non-stick baking surface that renders a lovely golden crispness to my baked treats.

I was never ever able to get my baking sheets truly clean without scraping off the non-stick surface, and I have thrown away more cookie sheets than I can count. Now, I am more than happy to take every one of my disgusting "non-stick" coated baking sheets (various brand names withheld) and launch them into the dumpster in favor of the Exopat atop a plain metal baking sheet.

Every cook should have one of these. Do not be daunted by the price; the ease of cleanup and lessened waste of food due to sticking and burning TOTALLY pays for this sheet within initial usage. I couldn't be more enthusiastic about this purchase.

A "Must-Have" Kitchen Item!

Nonstick Exopat baking mats, (sometimes called Silpat), are a must-have for anyone who loves to bake - especially cookies, (they brown evenly - no burned bottoms or drying-out - a major problem for me in the past), gingerbread and pastries. I have two mats and use one especially for savories, like meatloaf with roasted potatoes, nachos, roast chicken, some meats, and other similar foods. The mat can also be used to place under pies and casseroles that might drip while baking. Made of a laminated rubberized silicone - nothing you bake will stick to this material - and it can be wiped clean with a sponge.

Measuring 16-1/2" by 11-5/8", this is the same size as my regular cookie sheet. To use this item, it must be placed in a cookie sheet or pan. It totally eliminates the need for pre-bake greasing and/or parchment paper. Many marketed non-stick surface pans don't always work. I have ruined batches of cookies with them. These mats, made in France, are freezer safe and can withstand oven temperatures up to 580 degrees.

I wouldn't bake without one now. I have also given them countless times as gifts. My friends still thank me for turning them on to this "must have" item. Highest recommendations!

Nice addition to the kitchen

This product is one of the rare items I didn't know I needed. Once I tried it, there was no going back.

These baking sheets are half the price of many versions I've seen in kitchen specialty shops. However, these perform very well. I've owned mine for about a year, and have used them consistently, yet they still look completely new.

This product's benefits for me are two fold:

1) super easy clean up. Instead of cleaning the whole pan, I just clean the cover.

2) nothing burns anymore! Previously, I always had to keep an eye on my cookies and scones during their last few baking minutes. Often they ended up burnt if I didn't remove them significantly sooner than the recipe called for. (I have guessed that this phenomenon is due to my thick black cookie sheets that radiate more heat than some other styles.) The non stick cover buffers the heat of the baking sheet, so no matter what sheet I'm using, my recipes turn out as expected. I have no worries about burning what I'm baking.
