| I got this printer for free after rebate. Acutally, when all was said and done, they paid me to get it. And like I said in the title, you get what you pay for. I have only had the printer a couple months and I have already spent a bunch of money on replacement inks - even with minimal use I ran out of black ink within a month or so. The printer is useless for photos - the quality is awful, with huge lines going across the pictures and the colors not looking great. Tried running the cleaning process, but that only seemed to make the lines worse. Also I can't figure out how to print in black and white, so it wastes a lot of the colored ink unnecessarily. My advice: Get it as a temporary second printer if it's free, then throw it away when it runs out of ink. |

Lasted just over a year.... |
Lasted just over 1 year, heads clogged as I stopped using the printer for two months and I have to throw it out. Tried cleaning heads, buying new inks, nothing has worked.
I will never buy an Epson printer again. Inks never lasted long, and v expensive to replace. Also Durabrite inks were too artificially bright in the printed photos, I never liked the results.
Im buying a Canon printer next, seems to have a better rating anyway!

I received this printer free via mail-in-rebate when I purchased my iMac. I think it does a decent job. (great for the price I paid!)
It has the borderless feature, which I have never used. Most photo frames cover borders anyways, and I don't mind trimming.
I think the quality is great. The ink is not overly expensive. You will save money, since this printer has the four separate cartridges, so you can purchase one color, instead off all of them.
I set most of my printing to the "economy print" to cut down on ink costs, and the black lasted quite a while.
I would rate this printer "middle of the road" But since I got it for free, I rated it highter. It has good quality, and reasonably priced ink cartridges for a free printer. |
