GREAT product |
I've had the Lexar Sport 1G for several months now and in no time it became something I take for granted and rely on.
The rubber gasket that holds it on a key ring is a stroke of genius. I was slightly concerned that it would start getting loose, or that the part that swings against the key ring would wear thin, but have seen no sign of either thing happening.
I've used it in USB ports on CPUs, monitors, and hubs, and it's been recognized right away, each and every time. It has a good form factor - large enough to be easy to grasp/handle, but easily small enough to fit with the "other" keys on the ring when I have them in my pocket.
I'm shopping for a second one - I want to add one for just music and radio show downloads.
The only disclaimer I'll make is that I've only used it on XP machines, so don't know whether there are any driver issues on other operating systems, although I haven't heard of any. I only wish I'd bought this thing sooner! |

Wonderful! |
| Oh how I heart the Lexar Flash Drive. This is the best design I've seen on one of these flash drives and I always get compliments and questions on it. The rubber around the outside makes it safe to put on a set of keys--other designs don't have this and I've heard others fall off keys and get lost, get banged up beyond use, or simply aren't made to carry on keys. As a college student, it's great to have this on a set of keys so I have it everywhere. Surprisingly, I come across things quite often that I can quickly copy onto my JumpDrive and take home to my computer. This is a GREAT alternative to burning data CDs (or using floppy disks if you're still in the stone age :). I would HIGHLY recommend this. Make sure you buy the 1GB version though, because the smaller capacities aren't always capable of holding big files--either that or you'd have to delete a bunch of stuff to make room. |

sudden failure |
Had this drive for about a month. Slowerer than my 512 sandisk micro and did't fit as well in several slots.
This jumpdrive sport is marketed as robust but failed after a month with a crack along the seam -- same as others report in various hardware forums. I treated it pretty carefully so I was suprised. |
